Science Fiction Stories Volume 1 by Kevin J. Anderson

About the book:

Science fiction tales spanning the career of a cross-genre master.

Kevin J. Anderson is one of the best-selling novelists working in the field today, but over the course of his long career he has produced a steady stream of short fiction, ranging from hard science fiction, to fantasy, to horror, dark fantasy, and humor. He has won or been nominated for the Hugo Award, Nebula Award, Bram Stoker Award, Shamus Award, Colorado Book Award, Scribe Award, New York Times Notable Book, and many others.

This extraordinary multi-volume set collects over 130 of Anderson’s short stories spanning fifty years of his career and across multiple genres. Each piece is introduced by an original personal note placing the story in context, describing the inspiration or special relevance.

In this first volume of Anderson’s science fiction stories, you’ll read Anderson’s very first publication (at age 14); you’ll visit alternate timelines, rat-infested space stations, futuristic battlefields, post-apocalyptic civilizations, Martian colonies, and the sands of Arrakis, also known as Dune.

About the author:

Kevin J. Anderson has published more than 180 books, 58 of which have been national or international bestsellers. He has 24 million copies in print in 34 languages.

He has written numerous novels in the Star Wars, X-Files, and Dune universes, as well as the unique Clockwork Angels steampunk trilogy with legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart. His original works include the Saga of Seven Suns series, the Wake the Dragon and Terra Incognita fantasy trilogies, the humorous Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. series and The Dragon Business series.

He has edited numerous anthologies, written comics and games, and the lyrics to two rock CDs as companions to his Terra Incognita trilogy.

Anderson is the director of the graduate program in Publishing at Western Colorado University, and he and his wife Rebecca Moesta are the publishers of WordFire Press.

Prophets of Death and Madness: The Book of Ancient Evil 3 John Haas

**Preorder special! For a limited time, preorder Prophets of Death and Madness and receive a free eBook of "Shades of Springbourne," a short story spinoff from one of John Haas's most popular characters!**

About the book:

The Necronomicon lies on the ocean floor, but there are other hidden copies. That loathsome tome contains ways to contact creatures far superior to even horrific Cthulhu.

Elder gods who could destroy all reality in the blink of an eye.

Death lies in wait for Doctor Archibald Shaw, recent survivor of the sinking of the Titanic. Dangers, both new and familiar, unseen and overt, conspire to drag him deeper into the dark secret world. Shaw struggles to resist an undeniable pull toward Arkham, Massachusetts … and whatever new nightmare awaits there.

Meanwhile Singh crosses the Atlantic in pursuit of his only friend, convinced he may already be too late. He faces dangers of his own in the ocean’s depths, dangers that may prevent him from ever reaching Shaw.

Separated for the first time in decades, the two struggle against impossible odds—alone.

Monsters. Nightmares. Exotic portals. Elder gods. A strange new cult.

Will Shaw and Singh reunite before death claims them all?

About the author:

John Haas is a Canadian author, born and raised in Montreal before moving to Calgary, where he lived for twelve wonderful years. Now he lives in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, but still misses seeing those Rocky Mountains in the distance.

John has been writing for most of his life, but only became serious about being published in the last decade or so. In that time he has published twenty short stories in various venues, including Writers of the Future volume 35. His first three novels have also been released—The Reluctant Barbarian (2017), The Wayward Spider (2019) and The Unavoidable Quests (2020), a fun and humorous fantasy trilogy.

Currently he is hard at work on the next novel of Shaw and Singh’s struggles against the forces of darkness.

His goal is to become a full-time writer (rich and famous would be nice too, but not the main goal).

He lives with his two wonderful sons who continue to give him motivation, support and time to write.

Mystic: The Monk Addison Case Files by Jonathan Maberry

About the book:

Gerald "Monk" Addison used to be a soldier. Sometimes he’s a bounty hunter. Mostly, he’s a killer of killers.

His body is covered with the faces of victims of serial killers, human traffickers, and other monsters. Their blood is mixed with holy water and then inked onto his skin, allowing him to relive their deaths. To feel what they felt, and to see what they saw. The faces of the killers.

And then Monk goes hunting.

He is forever haunted by the ghosts who hire him. A madman mystic. A man driven to darkness and acts of shocking violence. Monk is a good man on a dark and dangerous road in search of personal redemption. In search of red justice.

Mystic collects the Monk Addison case files, pitting him against the most dangerous kinds of human monsters. These are stories of a complex and driven hunter of men. They are tales of a mystic hunting the nightmare streets and back alleys.

Ocean by Brian Herbter and Jan Herbert

Bestselling author Brian Herbert and his wife, Jan, have combined their talents to create an epic ecological fantasy novel.

In 2024, Earth is consumed by a great War of Ocean Liberation: a military force of sea creatures attacks naval installations, shuts down shipping lanes and fishing operations, and destroys offshore oil-drilling rigs. Huge blue whales, sharks, dolphins, and even monstrous creatures thought to be extinct—all strike with ferocity and surprising strength.

The marine armada is led by hybrid, transformed humans who call themselves Sea Warriors, ocean-rights zealots who can swim to the deepest regions of the sea and live off the bounty of the waters. Their commander, Kimo Pohaku, announces his startling intention: The complete liberation of the seas from human control.

Finally, the ocean is fighting back, but it might be too late….

Omnibus edition: The Awakening, The Sea Warriors, War of Independence. All three books of The Ocean Cycle by Brian Herbert & Jan Herbert in one volume.
