Fast, funny, and packed with action, Hymdur the Bear is an epic fantasy adventure featuring a hero unlike any other — part man, part mystery, and more bear than either.
WordFire Press is proud to offer an advance review copy of Hymdur the Bear: An Epic of Swords, Sorcery, and One Very Angry Cat, by master storyteller Alan Dean Foster. The book is scheduled for release on April 13, 2027.
About Hymdur the Bear
Some heroes are chosen. Hymdur just showed up—broke, smelly,
and with a past he can't quite remember.
In a world of three warring kingdoms, clashing swords, and ancient magic, a king lies drugged. A treasonous prince and his cold-blooded lover are unbarring the one gate that stands between civilization and annihilation. And a horde of savage warriors is ready to pour through and burn everything to the ground.
The only thing standing in their way is a wandering barbarian who can't remember his own name, a sorceress who commands lightning, and a very angry cat.
When Hymdur the Bear finally remembers who — and what — he truly is, the Tsalba hordes will wish someone else had picked that gate.
Epic in scope. Sharp as Shehbakru's blade. Funnier than a bear who needs a bath has any right to be. Hymdur the Bear is an action-packed epic fantasy adventure for fans of heroic fantasy, shapeshifter warriors, and reluctant heroes who save the world entirely by accident.
The Bear has awakened. Heaven help everyone.
