John D. Payne was born on the prairie, where tornadoes and electrical storms come to play. Small wonder he grew up imagining himself as everything from a leaf on the wind to the god of thunder. Today, he and his family live near Houston, where he suspects that the clouds of mosquitoes in his yard are not just sentient but malicious.
John writes sword and sorcery, sci fi, and contemporary fantasy. His debut novel, The Crown and the Dragon, was published in 2013 by WordFire Press.
